I used to be a location scout/manager in the film industry years
ago, i knew all these great locations and wanted to string them
all together with a theme. It has no point, just scenic locations
all within 2 hours of the Gold Coast/Brisbane area and one long
sprint session on a BMX. We had no permits except for permission
on the farms, we just had it planned and got in 1 or at the most
2 takes and took off to the next location. 46 locations in 6 days,
not bad. 7 riders involved, long days, many, many sprints. It
was on this shoot the idea was suggested for filming a few of
the Elite BMX Racing contenders leading up to the Olympics, what
became the next 5 years of our life "Life Behind Bars Pedal
To Medal".
